Jaya Prada is an Indian film actress and politician. She was born on April 3, 1962, in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, India. Jaya Prada has had a prolific career in cinema, spanning several Indian languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, and Marathi films. She is recognized for her beauty, dance skills, and strong performances.
Jaya Prada made her film debut at the age of 14 in the Telugu film "Bhoomi Kosam" (1974). She gained nationwide fame with the 1976 film "Siri Siri Muvva," and her success in Telugu cinema was quickly followed by a successful career in Hindi cinema as well.
Some of her notable Hindi films include "Sargam" (1979), "Kaamchor" (1982), "Sanjog" (1985), and "Aakhree Raasta" (1986), among others.Apart from her acting career, Jaya Prada also entered politics. She joined the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in 1994 but later moved to the Samajwadi Party and served as a Member of Parliament from Rampur, Uttar Pradesh.
